When Ken got in from work yesterday he surprised me with a dozen yellow roses. I LOVE yellow roses. One of the roses' stem broke so you can see it laying on the table next to the vase and my stuffed rhino I got at the Knoxville Zoo. Aren't they beautiful?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my birthday cake. It was a Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake....yummmmmmmmm

My parents just left for the Smokies so we have the house to ourselves!! When they were leaving I told them it was party time. :0 They are coming back Friday. I hope they have a nice time away....with some quiet for a change. :)
We have 11 more days till we depart for the Smokies.
Today has been so nice with the cool breeze that I brought my laptop out on the back porch to post this blog. It's got me in the mood for Fall. It would be nice if it stayed this way!! We actually passed a house on the way to church that has their yard decorated for Halloween. That's too early for me.

The fall is my favorite time of year too for the actual weather but don't like to see everything die. I like Spring because it is a rebirth. Isn't it great having a laptop...just take it wherever you want. How did we ever live without all of this technology? At least we know what it was like without it...our kids never will.
Oh...I forgot to say that the roses are BEAUTIFUL! I love flowers, but don't like to get them because they die so fast. (Am I on a dying theme here or what?) Keith always takes me out to dinner instead. I know the food doesn't last either, but I love to eat! (My hips will vouch for it!)
Didn't get the chance to post yesterday, but Happy Birthday!

Your mom and dad didn't go to warn the folks in the Smokies we are on our way did they :-)
