We all gathered at the Golden Living nursing home to wish Grandma a happy 96th birthday. All the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, her nieces and sister came. We filled up the place. She was looking forward to her birthday all week and had a wonderful day. My Uncle Gary, cousin Jessie and her son, Michael came up from Florida and we had a nice visit with them. It was a total surprise to Grandma...she had no idea.
She made it to her birthday and now she said she is ready to go home (heaven).
We have not had much of a relationship since I can remember. But these few weeks she's been in the hospital and now the nursing home have been the sweetest time. It makes up for all the past years. I love her so much and am going to miss her terribly. I thank God for giving me these special days now before she goes to give me some good memories. She has had such a hard, sad life and deserves to finally have some peace in her life.
